Hello and Thank You from Israel

Dear Mr. Kil,

 

Three weeks have passed since we returned from our amazing visit in Korea. We have many memories of our experiences which we share with friends and family. On weekends, little by little, I try to write to our wonderful hosts, who made the experience even more meaningful. Now I write to you.

 

We wish to thank you for your kind, friendly, very generous and considerate hospitality in your beautiful house, in the "roof suite" overlooking the city. It was a two day acquaintance yet we learned much from you in this short time about your life and about Korean history. The afternoon walk around the fortress and in its forest was calming and beautiful. The visit to the memorial monument was the first part of our history lesson which was later broadened by your explanations, the house of Ryu (Yoo Kwan-soon) Gwansun the freedom fighter and the visit to Independence Hall. At the printing museum we learned about the Jikji – an important Korean achievement, before the similar European printing process by Gotenburg. At the Presidents' residence we learned about the leaders of present days, while enjoying the lake and gardens. We will remember our early morning walk and exercise class, to which Yosi woke up twice.

 

It was interesting to hear about your work and see the special designs you make, for various purposes.

 

Thank you for driving us to Daejeon. We had a very pleasant evening with Prof. Kim and his friend Mr. Bryan Kim. The next day we enjoyed the Rice Festival.

We are glad we had an opportunity to meet your wife and daughters for a short time.
